Session 4 will be an abbreviated session, open for participation beginning Friday, June 10 through the end of the day on Thursday June 16.

This week's conversation will center on Science Curriculum Alignment. Inspired by the work session I attended at Lehigh Parkway Elementary on Monday (where some of you were present as well!), I thought it would be useful to have a conversation about where you see the "gaps" are in the current Allentown School District science curriculum. Here are some questions for discussion:

1) Based on the grades that you teach, or have taught, what standards and content areas are missing from the science curriculum as it is currently taught?

2) What are some opportunities for closing these gaps? (outside resources? moving FOSS kits around by grade? developing mini-units to cover curriculum?)

3) What sources of data do you currently have access to that allows you to understand where your students stand in terms of science achievement and prior experience?

4) Other areas you'd like to discuss?
